EFY Disc Jockeys

Thank you for your interest in our program. We appreciate your help in previous years and your future work this upcoming summer. We will be doing things a little differently this year, so we need your help in making this a wonderful experience for the youth.

The selection of the music which is played at dances is important to us. We understand that many people look to EFY to be a proper example, and we certainly try our best. Because of this concern, we carefully consider the music we play each year. As a guideline for our choices, we refer to the counsel outlined in the For the Strength of Youth booklet. This is the criteria we follow.

We encourage everyone to follow the same counsel and information which has been provided by our Church leaders in the For the Strength of Youth booklet as your musical considerations are made.

Important D.J. Announcement

Summer 2008

Due to recent program adjustments, there are changes in our need for D.J.s this year at Especially for Youth.

After much discussion, the administrators of CES Youth Programs have decided that EFY’s own summer employees will begin conducting most EFY dances. Because of this, our need to hire D.J.s will be greatly reduced.

This decision was based upon a number of considerations but was primarily influenced by our effort to reduce overhead expenses, and maintain greater control over the presentation of our activities.

There will however, be EFY sessions where we will be unable to supply our own equipment and this will require us to contract with a local D.J. in order to utilize their equipment and services. In these cases, we will provide those contracted D.J.s with our own music playlist, and fees will be paid according to a predetermined amount based on the number of participants attending each specific dance.

It is anticipated that most of our D.J. needs will be in areas where we hold smaller sessions and we are unable to obtain dance equipment locally. We do not expect to hire D.J.s at most of the larger university locations.
