EFY Financial Aid
We are no longer accepting applications for Financial Aid towards Especially For Youth 2008. Please check back with us to apply for Financial Aid towards Especially For Youth 2009 on October 1, 2008. Please contact us if you should have any questions: (801) 422-3817.
Financial aid is available for individuals seeking to attend an Especially for Youth session. Since our funds are limited, we
require all financial aid applicants to fill out an application to help us determine those with the most pressing financial need.
If you wish to apply for financial aid for more than one child, a separate application must be filled out for EACH child.
Application Process
- Apply for each child under a separate login name & password.
- Both sections of the application must be completed before it will be reviewed.
- When the application is completed and submitted electronically to our office,
we will contact your bishop/branch president by mail. Please make sure the address entered for your bishop/branch president is correct. An incorrect address may greatly delay the reviewing of your application.
- After the bishop submits his information to us by fax or return mail, your application will be reviewed.
- If you are chosen to receive financial aid, you will receive an e-mail to notify you of the amount offered.
- A completed financial aid application does not "hold" a spot for you in a session. Also, the offer or acceptance of an award does not guarantee you an opening for any EFY session. For this reason, we encourage you to complete the application as soon as possible.
- If you are granted financial aid before registering. Your award will automatically be applied to the EFY session for which you are registered. If you register for a session before you financial aid application has been fully processed, you will be required to pay the full amount at the time of registration. If you later receive an award, the amount of the award will be refunded to your credit card. Refunds take 3-4 weeks from the date of award notification.
Who Receives Financial Aid?
- Although we would love to be able to award aid to all who request it, because of limited funds, not all applicants receive an award. Awards are based on an assessment of financial need, as well as availability of funds.
- Financial Aid cannot be applied to EFY Area Programs.
What Information Will I Need to Supply?
- Your name, address, and phone information.
- Your bishop/branch president's correct address and phone number.
- Family information, such as family income level and dependants living in the home.
- You will also have an opportunity to express any special circumstances that will help the committee make an award decision.
How long will it take before I know whether I received financial aid?
- Usually 6 to 12 weeks. You will be notified by e-mail when a decision has been made.
