  1. The local stake approves an instructor, course of study from the approved ARC course offerings (listed below), and the time and location for the class. The registration fee for adult religion classes is set by BYU Continuing Education and cannot be changed locally. The fee is $1.25 per 90 minutes of class instruction. Classes are taught once per week for a period of anywhere from ten to seventeen weeks. A typical class is taught for fifteen weeks at $18.75 per participant.

  2. The stake president or his representative appoints an individual to be the class chairperson.

  3. The chairperson contacts the BYU Continuing Education office and provides the following information:

    1. Sponsoring stake.

    2. Instructor (name, phone, and address).

    3. Approved Adult Religion Class title.

    4. Dates, time and location of class.

    5. Number of weeks the class will be held.

      * Information for the class should be sent to the BYU Continuing Education office by the following dates. BYU Continuing Education will produce a promotional flyer to advertise the classes and will list the program on its website http://ce.byu.edu/ed.

For classes to begin: Please submit class information before:

    6. Directions to receive direct deposit.
    7. BYU Continuing Education Employee Contract (this will be sent to the instructor after these forms have been received by BYU Continuing Education).

  5. Publicity for the classes and registration of students is the responsibility of the locally appointed class representative in cooperation with the class teacher. No minimum number of adult registrations is required.

  6. BYU Continuing Education sends the chairperson a packet of materials for registration and promotion of the class and will also provide a master flyer to be printed and distributed by the stake. Only flyers generated by the BYU Continuing Education office can use the "Adult Religion Classes" name. Students requesting information regarding classes may contact BYU Continuing Education for a list or visit the website at http://ce.byu.edu/ed . Once your class information has been received, the class will be posted on the website.

  7. The registration fees are collected by the class chairperson. Checks should be made payable to BYU Adult Religion Classes. The funds are then mailed to BYU Continuing Education with an accounting form from BYU Continuing Education containing the following information: Host Stake, Instructor, chairperson information, and dates of the class.
