Experience one of BYU’s most popular sports camps this summer—Speed and Power Camp. Your success in virtually all sports hinges on SPEED. Come learn how to maximize and increase your speed. You will practice how to move more efficiently and train to develop your quickness.
This year’s camp will also focus heavily on POWER. Camp participants will receive professional instruction on weightlifting and will be given the opportunity to use BYU’s excellent athletic weight room throughout the week. Camp staff includes Mark Robison (BYU men’s head coach), Clarence Robison (BYU men’s head coach for 40 years, Olympian, and multisport athlete), Stacy Prince (BYU athletic department sport nutritionist), and members of BYU sports teams.
Join BYU track coach Mark Robison for four days of extensive training. This camp covers most sports where speed and power are essential components for success and include football, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, and track and field. You will develop sound fundamentals and basic techniques crucial for the development of future champions. You will also learn how to have proper stride rate and length, fast starts, quick reaction time, ideal running position, flexibility, relaxation, and efficient use of equipment.
You will learn the necessity of proper nutrition and how this relates to speed on the playing field. Your training will include how to use weights to increase your POWER in any sport! For a week of intense, high-energy training, BYU’s Speed and Power Camp 2008 is the camp for you!
