Advanced Ballet Information Packet

Intermediate Workshop: July 7–18, 2008
Advanced Intensive Workshop: July 21–August 1, 2008
Boys and Girls, Ages 11 and Older

Participants will enrich their ballet training under the skillful eye of some of the finest artists in the profession. BYU’s Summer Ballet Workshops offer experience in artistic training, including ballet technique, pointe and variations, character, jazz, and modern dance. Activities and discussions in conditioning, nutrition, and injury prevention will complement the two weeks of dance instruction. Each dancer will receive individual feedback and personal evaluations to improve artistic and technical development. Two weeks of instruction and rehearsal culminate in an informal closing presentation that showcases each dancer’s talents and what has been learned.

Her professional career included Odyssey Dance Theatre and Contemporary Dance Works, and she was a featured dancer in the video “Saturday’s Warrior.” She directed the BYU Theatre Ballet Youth Artist Program for five years and is currently the director of BYU Ballet Showcase Company.
